Lyngdorf distribution expands beyond retailers
The appointment announcement, issued November 2 by DALI's PR agency Starscream Communications, sets November 2, 2026, as the start of DALI's expanded custom installation (CI) remit for Lyngdorf Audio in the UK. Alongside its existing support for specialist retailers, DALI will provide account management to installers and system integrators.
Steinway Lyngdorf is outside that expanded remit. Director of Sales Simon Schino will remain responsible for those products.
DALI's retail distribution relationship with Lyngdorf dates to June 2022. Hiddenwires Magazine reported then that Lyngdorf UK had named DALI Audio UK as a sub-distributor serving audio retailers in the UK and Ireland. Under that arrangement, Lyngdorf Audio UK retained exclusive distribution of Steinway & Sons systems and continued serving Lyngdorf Audio's non-retail market.
Davidson brings manufacturing and distribution experience
Davidson is moving to DALI after three years as AWE Europe's head of elite dealers. His commercial and product experience includes roles at Bowers & Wilkins, Monitor Audio and AWE Europe, giving him a background in both loudspeaker manufacturing and specialist distribution.
"I'm delighted to be joining DALI at a time when they are building their CI business at speed," Davidson said.
He said DALI's CI speakers and the Lyngdorf range give installers much to explore, and that he wants to help partners make use of those opportunities. He also plans to get to know DALI's installation partners and their businesses while working with the UK team.
Speakers, electronics and demonstration facilities
His product responsibilities will include DALI's PHANTOM architectural speakers for in-wall, in-ceiling and on-wall installations, as well as amplification designed for installation projects.
Lyngdorf's electronics add to the products available through the channel, supporting the UK sales team's discussions with partners about sound quality, system requirements and individual project needs.
The announcement also identifies two UK demonstration facilities: DALI's space in Letchworth and Lyngdorf's in Essex.
