Editorial independence

No commercial, institutional or political pressure may influence editorial coverage.

Conflicts of interest

Any journalist with a personal or financial interest in a story they cover must declare this to the editor. They are removed from coverage of the relevant topic if a conflict is confirmed.

Gifts and hospitality

Not accepted. Press trips or events funded by third parties are disclosed in the relevant articles.

Source protection

Confidential sources are protected.

Presumption of innocence

Clear distinction maintained between suspects, the accused and the convicted.

Privacy

We respect the privacy of individuals, including public figures, in matters that do not relate to the public exercise of their functions.
