Finding your November payment date
There is no single November payday for everyone receiving support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The date depends on the benefit and the recipient's individual arrangements.
Claimants can confirm their next payment by reviewing their recent payment history or contacting the office responsible for their benefit. Universal Credit recipients can also check their online account.
PIP payments, rates and reviews
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) usually arrives at four-week intervals in a claimant's bank, building society or credit union account. Award information and recent bank statements can help recipients identify their next scheduled payment.
An eligible claimant may receive PIP's daily living component, its mobility component or both. Following the April 2026 increase, the enhanced weekly rates for 2026/27 are £114.60 for daily living and £80.00 for mobility, according to Benefits and Work.
Benefits and Work also reports longer intervals between PIP reviews for most claimants age 25 and older, effective April 6, 2026. Most new claims from that date receive an initial four-year award, with a review starting after about three years. Subsequent awards generally last six years, with the next review starting after about five years.
A separate review of PIP policy is due to deliver its final recommendations in November 2026. The DWP confirmed the timetable for the Timms Review, according to the Daily Record. Covering about 4.1 million claimants in England and Wales, it is the first comprehensive review since PIP began in 2013. No changes resulting from it have been approved; current eligibility and assessment rules continue to apply.
Universal Credit payment dates and health support
Universal Credit generally arrives once a month on a consistent calendar date. A claimant's assessment period and the date they first claimed determine the payment schedule.
For 2026/27, Universal Credit standard allowances received an additional 2.3% increase under the Universal Credit Act 2025, bringing their total uplift to about 6.2%. The House of Commons Library reports that most inflation-linked DWP and HMRC benefits rose by 3.8% from April 2026, matching September 2025 Consumer Prices Index inflation.
Different rules apply to the Universal Credit health element, formally called the limited capability for work and work-related activity (LCWRA) element. From April 6, 2026, it fell to £217.26 a month for most new claimants who do not meet the severe conditions criteria, a reduction of almost half. Existing claimants retain the higher rate, while the element is frozen for all claimants until 2029/30, according to Benefits and Work and Child Poverty Action Group.
The Milburn review into young people and work is expected to publish its final report in November 2026, Benefits and Work says. The government has said it will wait until Milburn has reported before considering any proposal to restrict access to the Universal Credit health element for people under 22.
State Pension and Pension Credit schedules
State Pension recipients are normally paid directly into their bank accounts every four weeks. The last two digits of a recipient's National Insurance number determine the weekday: 00-19 means Monday; 20-39, Tuesday; 40-59, Wednesday; 60-79, Thursday; and 80-99, Friday.
The basic and new State Pensions increased by 4.8% under the triple lock in April 2026, according to the House of Commons Library. The 2026/27 weekly amounts are £241.30 for the full new State Pension and £184.90 for the basic State Pension.
Pension Credit also usually follows a four-week payment cycle, though individual arrangements can differ. It offers extra support to eligible people over State Pension age with low incomes. Anyone who thinks they might qualify should check the current eligibility rules rather than assume they cannot claim.
Rate increases announced for April 2027
The next announced annual increases are separate from November's payments. In an October 28, 2026, written statement to Parliament, Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden set out the statutory review of State Pension and benefit rates for 2027/28.
The basic and full new State Pensions will increase by 3.9%, matching average weekly earnings growth for May-July 2026. Most other benefits included in the review will rise by 3.5%, in line with September 2026 Consumer Prices Index inflation.
Pension Credit's Standard Minimum Guarantee will increase by 3.9%, reaching £247.30 a week for a single pensioner and £377.40 for a couple. Local Housing Allowance rates and the benefit cap will remain frozen at their current levels for 2027/28. Most of the announced increases take effect on April 12, 2027.
