How to enter
Shoppers can enter by following Asda's official Instagram and Facebook pages and commenting GINGERBREAD on the competition post. Each week's entry window opens Friday at 10 a.m. and closes the following Sunday at 10 a.m.
One family will win each weekend, with the winner selected and contacted through an official Asda Instagram or Facebook account.
Asda said the £500 voucher would help "take care of everything from the Christmas dinner to the festive trimmings", along with "magical finishing touches to some extra presents under the tree".
The supermarket, which operates more than 1,000 UK stores, acknowledged shoppers' concerns about Christmas spending. The giveaway comes as households contend with pressure from energy bills, food inflation and high interest rates affecting mortgage costs.
The advertising campaign behind the giveaway
The competition accompanies "All of Christmas at Asda Price. BOOM!", the retailer's Christmas campaign, which launched November 3, 2026, across television, social media, outdoor advertising and digital channels.
Asda's group marketing director, Tom Hampson, said customers "don't want to do less at Christmas, they simply want to spend less on it". He said the campaign shows that shoppers can find everything they need for Christmas "all under one roof, at Asda Price".
Products featured in the campaign include a 7-foot pre-lit Christmas tree priced at £50, matching George Christmas sweaters starting at £10 and Exceptional Prosecco at £7.75, according to Metro.
The first two commercials made their television debut on the evening of November 3, during Emmerdale on ITV1 and The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4, Metro reported.
Agency Lucky Generals created the campaign, with Finn Keenan directing, according to A1 Retail Magazine. Its four 30-second films and an additional digital-only edit use a remix of Martin Garrix's dance track "Animals". The ads cover five Christmas shopping occasions: hosting, decorating, gifting, grocery home shopping and Christmas dinner.
A separate savings card bonus
Asda also offers a Christmas Savings Card for 2026, separate from the prize competition. According to thinkmoney, the amount saved determines the bonus: balances of £30 to £79 receive £1 extra; £80 to £129 receive £4; and £130 to £179 receive £7. The higher tiers pay £10 on savings of £180 to £229, £12 on £230 to £279, and £15 on £280 or more.
To qualify for the 2026 bonus, shoppers must have saved by 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. The bonus will be added Monday, November 16.
