Eligibility and applications
The Financial Times and its research partner Statista are accepting entries through an online form. Following eight annual editions, the next ranking will identify businesses across the region with the strongest revenue growth over the 2022–2025 period. The list is scheduled for March 2027, with a report profiling selected businesses to follow in April.
Applicants must have recorded at least $100,000 in revenue in 2022 and $1 million in 2025, or the equivalent in another currency using its average value over the relevant fiscal year. Revenue growth during that period must have been primarily organic. Companies must also be independent, rather than subsidiaries or branch offices of other businesses.
Eligible headquarters locations are Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
How revenue growth is assessed
Statista ranks companies by their compound annual growth rate, or CAGR, in revenue from the base year to the most recent year covered. A company's managing director or CEO, finance director or CFO, or an executive committee member must certify the revenue figures submitted.
Published entries include the company's name and headquarters location, its CAGR, and revenue and employee totals for both years. They also provide the founding date and company website address.
Recent leaders and growth thresholds
Malaysia's Borong led the eighth edition, published on March 17, 2026. The ecommerce technology platform reported revenue of $99.7 million and a CAGR of 295%. South Korean companies held the next two positions: legal and accounting group Bznav placed second, followed by ecommerce technology business InPock.
The qualifying CAGR for the 2026 list was 8.4%, up slightly from 8.1% in 2025. That earlier threshold was almost half the 15.1% required for the preceding edition.
In the seventh edition in 2025, Indian peer-to-peer lender Lendbox ranked first with a CAGR of 536.64%. Borong was second at 466.56%, ahead of the Philippines' Etaily at 408.99%.
Geographic and industry representation
Singapore and India each accounted for 101 of the 500 companies in the 2026 ranking, tying for the largest representation. Japan had 82 entries and South Korea had 79.
IT and software remained the largest industry category for a fourth consecutive year, accounting for 21.4% of the 2026 list. Fintech, financial services and insurance represented 9.6%, while healthcare and life sciences accounted for 5.6%.
The 2026 edition was also the first to include Chinese companies. Statista said China had been left out of the 2025 ranking because of difficulties verifying data.
